What's a Little Scratch?

August 31, 2010
This morning Teddy was enjoying the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine. So many good articles to read, like the cover story about Lady Gaga.
Gaga dresses funny but at least she's not boring! Did you know she's only 24 years old?
Just as Teddy was getting into the story, Nibs approached her. He looked stern.
"Did you take my Benz out for a spin?" asked Nibs. Teddy replied, "Uh, um, uh."
Then Nibs made Teddy go outside and look at the scratch. "It wasn't me! It wasn't me!" Teddy said over and over... Uh-oh! Will Teddy get in trouble?

  2. Years ago my mother accidentally dropped an object on my newly painted car while it was parked in the garage. The damage was minor but spoiled the new look. She came clean and told me about it. She really felt bad and offered to pay. I am ashamed to say that I reacted badly. I was furious but at the same time realized it was an accident and not her fault. I got over it. My mother has since passed away and now whenever I see those scratches on the car, I remember the incident so vividly and I miss my mother.

  3. That's a sad story, Anon. Maybe that mark on your car is SUPPOSED to be there as a reminder that she was in your life. I'm sorry she's gone!
It's funny, if I put a dent in my car, I don't mind. If someone else puts a dent in my car, I go nutso. Go figure!

  4. Yes, it is strange and wonderful how that little dent has transformed into a such a clear reminder of my mother. I think it is so vivid because of all the strong emotions that I had when the incident happened.
