A Palace in Palos Verdes

This is the luxury life! Palos Verdes has a brand-new resort, The Terranea, which offers some of the most spectacular coastal views in Southern California. After walking their quaint coastal paths Teddy entered the posh hotel, which has 582 rooms and is Earth-friendly.
Whale Watching

With Nibs fast asleep after a long weekend of playing Mr. Super Chef, Teddy slipped out early this morning to do some whale watching in Palos Verdes, which is about one hour South of Beverly Hills.
Teddy parked at the brand spankin' new Terranea Resort because they have beautifully landscaped coastal trails complete with benches and state-of-the-art telescopes.
Teddy was not let down. She saw at least a dozen whale spouts. Another whale watcher informed Teddy that these were blue whales migrating South.

Palm Springs It Is!

The day after Christmas Nibs wants to take Teddy somewhere glamorous and thought about Palm Springs because it's only a two hour drive from L.A.
He had heard The Riviera was the place to go so he checked it out online. This is where Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin used to chill out.
Teddy will love their gigantic pool and hot tub plus all the spa services. Nibs will enjoy their three restaurants and golf course.
Maybe Nibs will make this an annual tradition. A vacation after the holidays. So clever that Nibs!

A Thankful Thanksgiving!

Teddy had the best Thanksgiving ever! All she had to do was buy these cakes. Nibs did the rest of the work. He cooked, he cleaned, he even...
...set the table! Look at what a nice job Nibs did. Simple but elegant.
Nibs even bought Teddy her favorite roses: orange with red tips.
Nibs was happy he did all the work because then he could brag to all his friends that he saved the day because Teddy can't cook. That Nibs!
But Teddy was fine with that. She's learned to just sit back and give Nibs all the compliments he wants. Great job Nibs!

Done Dancing

Last night Teddy forced Nibs to watch the finale of Dancing With the Stars. It's one of Teddy's favorite shows. She likes all the glitter and glamour.
Kelly Osbourne was a fan favorite but because she fell on Monday night during one of her last dances she really couldn't win. Teddy thought it was sweet that her crazy parents were in the audience every night.
It came down to Mya and Donny Osmond. Donny looked like he was about to implode when he waited for the outcome.
Teddy was thrilled that Donny won only because she loved watching his sister Marie dance a few seasons ago and though Marie didn't get the mirrored trophy, at least one Osmond did!
So there, it's over. Weep weep. Next up? The Bachelor with that corny pilot Jake which premieres January 4 on ABC.

Christmas Candy

After checking out all the upper-crusty storefronts on Rodeo Drive, Teddy wandered over to Canon Drive where she happily discovered Edelweiss Candy Kitchen.
Their chocolates are handmade, a rarity these days.
Teddy really appreciated how well they decorated their windows. She felt like she was at a confectionery in Switzerland!
Teddy will have to tell Nibs about this place. Hopefully he will visit often with his favorite bear in mind! tee hee...

The windows at Coach on Rodeo Drive were surprisingly pink! Teddy wasn't sure if she liked them, but appreciated the stab at something different. There is a Coach outlet store on State Street in Santa Barbara that sells everything at almost half off, fyi... Teddy's tip of the day!

The windows at Tiffany & Co. in Beverly Hills are winter white wonderful, which made Teddy feel as if she was caught in a diamond-studded snow storm. Can you spot the gems? There is a diamond-speckled butterfly brooch and an aquamarine pin.

Teddy's favorite window display on Rodeo Drive was at Ralph Lauren. The theme was 1930s Broadway star. Silk, diamonds, champagne... what's not to like? Everyone says the window settings in Manhattan are the finest, but Teddy begs to differ.

After the Beverly Hills Tree Lighting Ceremony Teddy took a stroll along Rodeo Drive. Nothing better than a little window shopping at night! The displays at Chanel were simple but to the point. Clearly their perfume Chanel Number 5 is still a best seller! Marilyn Monroe used to be the scent's spokesperson. Teddy never liked the fragrance. She's more a Nina Ricci bear.

Teddy was bemused by all the lavish decorations at the Rodeo Lighting Ceremony on Saturday evening. She even tried to take one home. Too bad the giant red Christmas tree ornament was too heavy to lift!

On Saturday night Teddy went with her friend Maddy to the wonderful lighting ceremony on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The Christmas tree on Two Rodeo Drive was as gorgeous as ever.
The whole street was done up, mostly with red and gold.
Atop the Beverly Wilshire Hotel (where Pretty Woman was filmed) perched a lit-up UNICEF star.
There were even massive decorations around the fountain by Tiffany's.
Toward the end of the evening fireworks were set off from the roof of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Spectacular! Nibs really missed out!

The Pearl Necklace

This morning Teddy took in an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. This one was titled The Pearl Necklace which obviously piqued Teddy's interest because she has a thing for pearls!
Teddy was not disappointed with the episode which has a wonderful twist at the end! An old rich man asks his secretary to marry him. He says it's a great opportunity for her because he is supposed to die in a year and after he passes she will inherit $10 million. Her boyfriend tells her to go for it and she does.
On their wedding night the geezer gives her a necklace with only one pearl. She asks why one? He tells her she will get a pearl for every year they are married. The woman figures that will be her first and last pearl since her husband is so old.
But the old timer doesn't kick the bucket. He lives for another 25 years! Here you can see the poor woman has 25 pearls on her necklace! Agony! In the meantime her boyfriend married another woman and had a son with her...
Finally moneybags expires! The lady's boyfriend returns and demands a percentage of the $10 million for some reason Teddy doesn't understand. He didn't have to marry the old man. Why should he get a dime? The twist at the end made Teddy jump off her ottoman! The woman, now rich and old herself, marries her boyfriend's son whom she has befriended over the years. You see, there were cougars even back in the 1950s!

Monkeying Around

Teddy found all kinds of unusual things at the LaCienega playground like this spinning question mark thing. Teddy didn't get it but maybe the tykes do.
To strengthen her arms, Teddy took to the monkey bars. Good thing bears have a strong grip or else she would have fallen down to the sand many times. How do humans do it?
Afterwards Teddy did a little more climbing to get her Flexor Digitorum Superficialises going. (Translation: forearm muscles.) Teddy thinks she's getting a better workout than Nibs!
After Teddy's big exercise regimen she treated herself to a little something-something out of the vending machine. Teddy just loves vending machines. To her, they are boxes of joy!
