Alfred Hitchcock Presents "The Penpal"

August 25, 2009
Teddy and Nibs love to watch reruns of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, the TV series from the 1950s and 1960s that can sometimes be a little bit scary (Nibs insists Teddy watch it only during the day so she doesn't get bad dreams). Today they saw "The Penpal" about an older woman who is penpals with a handsome young man in the clinker. Instead of revealing her real age, she says she's in her 20s. You can see on Teddy and Nibs' TV screen the older woman and the photo of the younger woman she pretends to be (she sent this photo to the incarcerated man). Well, things get weird when the guy busts out of jail and comes looking for his young penpal (eek!). The older lady explains the girl in the photo is her niece, but she's out of town. Luckily the cops come and take the guy away, saving the older woman from having to tell the embarrassing truth. Teddy learned an important lesson from this episode: never try to be someone you're not!
