Jillian Lauren Is Back!

The other night Teddy was reading the August issue of Los Angeles magazine to check out the latest and greatest her city has to offer.

She was shocked to read that her favorite author Jillian Lauren (she penned Some Girls, which chronicled her real life experience as a member of a harem in Brunei) has written another book!

It's a fiction book called Pretty: A Novel about one woman's experience in a beauty school. Teddy can't wait to buy a copy on Amazon.com when it becomes available on Aug. 30. (Click blue link for a quick pre-order.)

Felicia and Teddy Cocktail Talk

Felicia said she needed some sister time. Uh-oh. "Of course," Teddy said. "Come on over for some cranberry juice on the rocks!"

"Teddy, I want Edward to propose to me," Felicia said frankly. "You got Nibs to pop the question fast. How did you do it?"

Teddy was stunned. "I had no idea you were that serious," said Teddy, which really wasn't the truth, but she didn't know what else to say. "I gave Nibs an ultimatum, actually. I said marry me or else! It's my style."

"Did I hear my name?" said Nibs, who popped out of nowhere, as usual.

"Um, er," Teddy stammered. "I don't know!"

Bertolli To The Rescue!

Teddy doesn't like to cook. That's why she was thrilled to see a commercial for Bertolli frozen pasta, which she snapped up at her local Ralph's.

All Teddy had to do was open the package with her paws, and toss the ingredients in a skillet.

Cooking time was 10 minutes and all that was required was a little stirring.

Nibs was her Guinea Pig. "Teddy, your cooking is excellent!" Nibs praised.

Teddy was quite proud of herself. Thank you Bertolli!

Ashley Hebert: The Final Rose Ceremony in Fiji

There have already been previews of The Final Rose Ceremony on ABC's The Bachelorette, which airs August 1.

Ashley hands out the final rose on the island of Fiji. Ryan returns but is sent home yet again (awww, sad for him). 

Ashley chooses her man (JP? Or Ben F?) on the beach. She wears a pink dress and the men arrive by seaplane (Teddy is pointing her paw toward the aircraft to make sure you see it!).

Ashley seems to have a hard time deciding between the men and says, "I hate this, it's not fair!" Lots of waterworks.

Check out Ashley's fancy drop earrings. Teddy likes that they're pearl!

Mating Season

Wow! Teddy and Nibs are getting along really well. Today Nibs even bought her roses.

Oh, I know what it is. It's mating season for bears. No wonder Nibs is laying the romance on thick.

Does that mean Nibs is pressuring Teddy to produce a cub? (I am too afraid to ask. Yes, I am their blogger and know them well, but don't want to get too personal!)

Can you picture Teddy as a mother?

A Rare Moment

It's been a tough week already for Teddy. She had to beat the heat at the park and brave lines at the supermarket. So today she had a slice of lemon and raspberry tart for breakfast. Yup, FOR BREAKFAST!

It's moments like these--just Teddy and her dessert--that she most cherishes in life. But sometimes those moments can get interrupted.

Remembering what Fopsie taught her ("Be kind to your husband," she always says), Teddy let him share her seat.

And in a very un-Teddy moment, she even let Nibs have a bite of her tart! Can you believe it?

Teddy Goes To Ralphs

For most people this would be a regular weekly thing but for Teddy, well, going to Ralphs is a big deal!

You see, Teddy normally doesn't grocery shop at all (she orders take out). And when she does she hits Trader Joe's. Ralphs is like a distant planet to her. But she loved it.

There were so many flowers to choose from! Roses everywhere!

There must have been 5,000 strawberries on display. Teddy was overwhelmed by all the goods.

Cakes, cakes, cakes! Teddy bought three! She just couldn't decide.

She even bought a sweet love card for Nibs. Awww. Teddy couldn't believe the overabundance. She may have to take a break from her beloved TJ's (so small!) and be a Ralphs girl for a while. :)

Coldwater Canyon Park

With the weather nice and the roads clear (they're now calling the 405 closure Arma-HEAVEN because traffic was at an all-time low), Teddy and Nibs looked for a little nature at the (relatively) new Coldwater Canyon Park in The City Of Beverly Hills (Heidi Klum and Jessica Alba visit often).

Nibs was very impressed with the fancy, drought-proof landscaping.

There was also a dazzling, modern-looking fountain.

Teddy thought the stream that came out of the fountain was a nifty idea. "What a great place to cool your paws!" said Teddy

On the perimeter of the park was a rubber walking path for exercise freaks (Teddy is not one, ahem).

No squabbling, no snickering, no sarcasm. Teddy and Nibs got along swimmingly. Maybe they should get out in nature more often!

Carmageddon Comes To L.A.!

With Carmageddon fast approaching, Teddy had over her pals Fopsie and Herbert to discuss how they'd beat the traffic.

Carmageddon is the phrase given the debacle that will be Friday through Sunday night when the 405 freeway is closed between the 101 and 10 freeways. Massive traffic is expected.

Teddy suggested they all get out of town and go somewhere fun like Paris. Nibs said that was silly (Nibs doesn't like to travel that much). Instead he invited the clan over for a barbecue!

Isn't Teddy's water tray snazzy? That bear has a knack for arranging things!

Groundswell By Katie Lee

A Teddy and Nibs reader named Felicia once commented that she didn't think Teddy read books. Well, once in a while our dear bear takes a break from the tabloid and reality TV shows to crack open a novel. This month it's Groundswell.

Author Katie Lee, who used to be married to singer Billy Joel, takes on a story about a young lady in a very competitive East Coast environment.

Teddy was fascinated by the social fireworks, which reminded her of the ups and downs of her own clan! There has been plenty of drama this year with Fopsie's wedding and her own sister's new relationship with player Edward!

That's Katie above in the photo. She looks a bit like Katie Holmes mixed with Ali MacGraw. It will likely take Teddy months to finish the book. But at least she's trying!

Emily Maynard The Next Bachelorette

Last night during the end of The Bachelorette, Emily Maynard from last season's The Bachelor had a candid one-on-one talk with host Chris Harrison. They met at that old, Mediterranean mansion in Malibu where many months ago Emily first locked eyes with Brad Womack. Teddy was entranced!

Emily's hair was fuller and her outfit more sophisticated than we have seen in the past. But the tears were fresh. They started to roll as soon as she said hello to Chris. Sniff sniff. This beauty sure seems extra fragile.

During their intense 20 minute chat Emily said that Brad was a "gentleman" and that they split because she wasn't sure that Brad really wanted her to move to Austin, Texas. Because she had little Ricki to think of, Emily couldn't take a chance on Brad's flakiness. The engagement is off and Emily is 100% single!

Emily didn't cough up any juicy details though she did shake like a leaf. Teddy couldn't help but think this appearance (Brad refused to attend) was just an audition to be the next Bachelorette. Teddy's favorite magazine Life & Style reported weeks ago that Emily was in negotiations for this part. Would she be good as the lady handing out the red roses? Teddy sure thinks so!

Let Her Eat Cake!

What's a birthday without a pound of sugar? Teddy loved the Hansen's cake Nibs picked out for her.

Hansen's is where Khloe Kardashian got her wedding cake and where Tori Spelling gets her kids' birthday cakes, fyi. There are 2 Hansen's stores: one on Fairfax Blvd. and one on Beverly Dr.

Teddy could have devoured the entire cake herself, but she knew she just had to share!

YUMMY YUMMY!
