See's The Day!

October 29, 2010
No Halloween is complete without a trip to See's candy in The Century City Mall.
Teddy just loves their window displays... so festive, no?
Teddy has a lot of people to shop for this year: Nibs, of course (even though he's being very sour), Fopsie, Herbert, Felicia...
Good thing they had plenty of supplies. Sometimes See's nearly runs out. Now that is scary!

...And Nibs Was Zorro!

October 28, 2010
Sheesh! Does Nibs look handsome or what? Last year he dressed as Zorro for Halloween.
Nibs is far more dashing than Antonio Banderas, who played Zorro in the 1998 film The Mask of Zorro and its 2005 sequel The Legend of Zorro (Widescreen Special Edition)
What should Nibs be this year? I have a feeling he'll not want to dress up. He's been in an unbearable mood lately!

Last Year She Went to Tiffany's...

Oct. 28, 2010
In 2009, Teddy dressed up as Holly Golightly from Breakfast At Tiffany's for Halloween.
Didn't she look a lot like Audrey Hepburn's dazzling, dashing character?
Teddy still doesn't know what she's going to be this year. Any suggestions?

Pumpkin Picking

October 27, 2010
Teddy has been a busy bear lately! Yesterday she went to Trader Joe's in Culver City to select her pumpkins. She can't believe Halloween is in FOUR days!
Teddy likes her pumpkins on the petite side and they must still have their stems...
But she also likes white ones. They are pretty aren't they?
Have you picked your pumpkins yet?

Coffee Cake Sunday

October 25, 2010
It was such a rainy weekend that there really wasn't much Teddy could do except bake! So yesterday she tried out the new Trader Joe's mix for Cinnamon Crumb Coffee Cake.
The batter requires only eggs, milk and butter. The crumb part only needs butter. (It should be called Butter Cake, not Coffee Cake!)
All Teddy had to do was lay in batter, then lay in crumb, then lay in batter, then lay in crumb again.
A half hour later all the work was done (Teddy's paws don't move that fast).
The end result? Pure yumminess. Teddy ate three small squares (and hid the rest from Nibs!). Teddy needs to work on her sharing skills.

All The Pretty Pumpkins

October 22, 2010
It's Halloween time! Teddy woke up early this morning to decorate the house black and orange. The first thing she pulled out (and plugged in) was her glowing pumpkin that her grandpa Jim gave her many years ago.
Next came out the lights made of witches hats. Spooooky! It took Teddy hours to string these lights up as Nibs refused to help. Hmphhh!
Let's not forget Teddy's favorite ghost candle. She's had it for years and refuses to light it. She doesn't want her little ghost to melt!
And then there's the rest... Teddy just loves her black castle. She wishes she had a life-sized one she could live in.
Next up: buying pumpkins at the patch!

Teddy As Marilyn Monroe?

October 21, 2010
Teddy is not sure who she should dress up as for Halloween this year. But looking at the new issue of Vanity Fair gave her an idea: Marilyn Monroe!
Why not? Teddy's blonde. And pretty. And a little zany. And she's "acted" before.
But how would Teddy dress? The pink strapless gown from How To Marry A Millionaire when MM sang "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend"? (Which they are, by the way.)
Or maybe the white halter dress from The Seven Year Itch?
And would Nibs dress up as Marilyn's husband Arthur Miller? Or her other husband Joe DiMaggio? Teddy has a lot of planning to do...

Real Good!

October 20, 2010
Our favorite bear was thrilled with The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, though obviously they have one housewife missing: Teddy!
Teddy's favorite housewife is Lisa Vanderpump because she has a lovely British accent and she actually seems nice.
Plus Lisa has a cute little Teddy Bear Pomeranian named Jiggy. Anything that even mildly resembles a "teddy bear" has Teddy's stamp of approval.
This is Lisa and her husband at their wedding. She got married at 21 and is now 50. Oh Lordy! Almost 30 years with the same man! Sheesh.
This is Lisa's shoe collection. Teddy can definitely relate to her!
Teddy is going to call Fopsie and see if she worked on this show. Maybe Fops can help secure Teddy a cameo on the series? Hmmm... Not a bad idea, thinks Teds.

Noah...?

October 19, 2010
From the look of this photo one would guess that the Fopsie/Herbert affair is, um, "Noah Moore." As in "no more." Get it?
But the truth is.... (drumroll please)... they're more on than ever! Fopsie admired Herbert for his honesty during yesterday's brunch at Ugo and said she was more in love than ever!
The truth is Fopsie had to work her way up as well. She started in the mail room at CAA earning about $50 a day in her early years. It took a long time before she became a big TV producer! (The tombstone is in Fopsie's front yard for an obvious reason: Halloween is in 12 days!!!)

Ugo Showdown

October 18, 2010
Herbert arrived. He came on time and slid into his seat. He was all smiles. Fopsie was happy to see him. But she was nervous.
After he ordered his Cafe Americano, Herbert jumped right into the subject Fopsie wanted to address. "I seem to be losing my British accent a bit, aren't I? I can explain!" Herbert confessed he's not British. He just lived in England for many years.
He also confessed that he grew up in Santa Barbara... the wrong side of Santa Barbara. He even worked with Teddy for a while at a bakery. They earned minimum wage and struggled. When Teddy met Nibs, everything changed. Nibs paid for Herbert's Masters program at Cambridge and helped him get a job. "That doesn't bother you Fopsie, does it? That I started off from the bottom?"

Meet Me At Ugo

October 18, 2010
Fopsie got a call Sunday morning. Herbert said to meet him at Ugo in Culver City for brunch.
She arrived early and was nervous. She missed Herbert and just wanted to give him a big bear hug. She didn't want to confront him about his accent.
She asked for a quiet table outside. She then realized she was 30 minutes early! Well, at least it gave her time to prepare.
After rehearsing her questions over and over, Fopsie started to feel anxious. To calm herself, she browsed the dessert selection.
Mmmm, chocolate cupcakes! Fopsie wondered if Teddy came here often...

Happy Friday Y'All

October 15, 2010
Nibs sent Teddy roses! It's his way of saying Happy Friday. Awww. That Nibs!
Teddy is excited for the weekend. She's going to watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which she DVR'd last night.
She's also going to get all the scoop on Herbert and Fopsie's "talk." Look for the deets on Monday!

Fopsie's Dilemma

October 14, 2010
With the scars still fresh from her split with Edward, Fopsie carefully considered what to do next with Herbert, who doesn't seem to be the person he says he is. She was so distracted with thoughts of Herbert that she could barely focus on work.
Even though Fops was supposed to read through a new movie script, she shirked her work duties and called Herbert. Shucks, he wasn't answering. She left a message. "We must talk, Herbert," she said.
Fopsie wants to have a face-to-face meeting with Herbert and hash this out. She likes him a lot, but wants answers.
She was too distressed to work and found herself looking out the window of her high-rise office. Poor Fops. This love thing has been a roller coaster for her!

Will The Secret Get Out?

October 13, 2010
Frazzled over their "family secret" getting out, Teddy called Herbert to her house for some coffee and chocolates to discuss the pressing matter.
Teddy told Herbert that she didn't want anyone finding out they grew up "monetarily challenged" in Santa Barbara and that Nibs bailed them out of a life of hard labor.
Herbert said Fopsie was going to find out at some point and he wanted to tell her himself. Also, he needs to explain he's not really British, he only just picked up a British accent while working there. Hey, it happens!
Teddy said maybe it's best to tell Fopsie but then tell her not to tell anyone else but they could not tell Nibs.
Herbert was a little confused, but said OK. "What's the big deal Teddy?" he said. "I have a great job now and those days in Santa Barbara are long behind us."
"I don't want my Beverly Hills friends knowing I was once poor!" screamed Teddy. That Teddy. She just has to keep up with the Joneses!

Teddy Calls Herbert

October 12, 2010
Teddy wanted to get to the bottom of Herbert's flip-flopping British accent so she decided to give him a call this morning.
But then Teddy heard Nibs' voice in her head saying, "Don't get involved Teddy!"
Teddy quickly dismissed Nibs' voice and dialed away. (She never listens to Nibs when he's in the room so why would she listen to him when he's not in the room?!)
So like Herbert to not be home! He's probably out with Fops. Let's hope he keeps his British accent up! Teddy doesn't want Fopsie to know Herbert grew up not in England but in Santa Barbara near Teddy. They both worked at a bakery until Nibs single-handedly saved Teddy's entire clan from abject poverty. (It's the family secret--shhh.)
