Knight And Day

July 7, 2010
Yesterday Teddy and Nibs went to the Tiburon Playhouse just off Main Street to see a matinee movie. The Playhouse has been around since the 1920s and is full of charm.
Nibs chose Knight And Day because he was up for an action comedy. The film has been struggling at the box office (it's made only $49 million in its first week whereas Twilight: Eclipse made $175 million in its first four days, just to put it in perspective).

Tom Cruise was funny as the undercover agent gone rogue. Cameron Diaz kept up nicely as the innocent bystander who gets caught up in Tom's web of intrigue. What summer movie do you want to see?

Walking In Tiburon

July 6, 2010
After eating that HUGE piece of Princess Cake at Bistro 35, Teddy decided to take a walk down Main Street in Tiburon to help burn that lovely dessert off (Teddy read you can burn 300 calories an hour just by walking!).
What's a trip to Tiburon without a little shopping? (You can burn 200 calories an hour shopping.)
Teddy liked this sweatshirt. She thought the color could bring out her brown eyes (or would it?).
Teddy was starting to get sleepy and thought a nap was in order so she looked around for Nibs (where is he?) to give her a ride back to the hotel (napping burns only 50 calories an hour but at least it's something!).

Bistro 35

July 6, 2010
On Teddy's first day in Marin she went to Tiburon to visit Bistro 35, the cafe that replaced Teddy's longtime favorite haunt, The Sweden House, home of the Most Fabulous Princess Cake in the World.
Teddy found the remodel fantastic. It had a decidedly French bistro vibe to it and the brown/beige color tones were soothing. Teddy got a table outside and perused the menu.
The waitress recommended Teddy view the desserts inside the restaurant. Happily, Bistro 35 served up their own version of the Princess Cake, a Scandinavian dessert that has marzipan frosting on the outside and cream, white cake and raspberry jam on the inside.
"One slice of Princess Cake, please," Teddy told the frazzled waitress (the place was packed with German tourists).
Teddy enjoyed her slice of Scandinavian heaven so much that she ordered a piece of Princess Cake to go for Nibs. Could her day get any better?

Another Holiday For The Bears

July 6, 2010
Nibs wanted to give Teddy an early birthday present so for the 4th of July weekend he zipped her up to Sausalito. The words "pack your bags" are music to Teddy's ears.
They stayed at the Casa Madrona, which has the biggest spa Teddy has ever seen. They spent their afternoons walking in the neighborhood, checking out the swarms of tourists.
There wasn't much 4th of July hoopla in Sausalito (a 15 minute drive from San Francisco) with the exception of these red-white-and-blue balloons. But Tibs sure had a ton of fun. Stay tuned for more Marin photos...

Done!

July 2, 2010
After spending several hours at Nordstrom, Nibs finally bought a gift for Teddy. Nibs always pays cash. He says its easier. (And, also, that way Teddy can't look at his credit card statement and see where he's been spending his money!)
The sales lady wrapped the gift up nicely with a bow and all. The bag was almost too big for Nibs to carry!
Goodbye Grove!
Now if Nibs can only remember where he parked his car.... hmmm.

David, Chloe or Tory?

July 1, 2010
Nibs looked around Nordstrom for hours, first in the jewelry department. Teddy loves David Yurman's designs. Maybe a Yurman necklace?
Next he checked out perfumes. Chloe would seem like a Teddy scent, no?
The purse department was overwhelming for poor Nibs. But this snake number did catch his eye.
Maybe a Tory Burch makeup bag? Teddy is always complaining she doesn't have a proper place to put her mascara and lipstick.
Anyone want to weigh in?

Birthday Shopping

July 1, 2010
With Teddy sleeping in this morning (her insomnia kept her up till 4 a.m.), Nibs headed to The Grove to find a birthday present for his favorite bear.
Nibs enjoyed wandering around The Grove, looking at the fake lakes and mini park and silly statues.
There was only one place to visit: Nordstrom. It's Teddy's favorite department store and Nibs thought that surely he would find something nifty there.
Which department should he go to first?
