Major Mall!

November 9, 2009
Teddy just loves to check out Los Angeles' malls so yesterday she left Nibs behind to venture out to Topanga, about 45 minutes West of Beverly Hills, to see what their Westfield shopping center had to offer. Teddy was stunned! The mall is massive and has over 100 stores. Let Teddy show you around today...

Blossoms For Fall

November 8, 2009
Last night Teddy and Nibs went to some big, fancy-pants dinner honoring a friend for his lifetime achievements. Of course Teddy took home one of the floral centerpieces! Nibs didn't want her to, but she did it anyhow. The arrangement was quite clever. On one side were yellow roses and the other side were red roses so it looked completely different from either side. Teddy prefers the yellow roses side.

Wok This Way

November 7, 2009
Last night Teddy and Nibs were too lazy to venture out for dinner so they ordered in. Their favorite take-out place is Wok On Fire on LaCienega Blvd.

Wok On Fire offers both Chinese and Japanese food satisfying the cravings of both Teddy and Nibs.

Teddy loves their Tiger Roll ($10) which has shrimp tempura inside and salmon on top. She often gets their Spicy Tuna Roll ($6) as well.

Nibs is partial to their Eel & Avocado Roll ($5.50). Their sushi really is shockingly good. To order just call 310-289-0102 or log onto www.wokonfiretogo.com.

Bears at BCAM

November 6, 2009
After their LACMA tour, Teddy and Nibs stopped by the Broad Contemporary Art Museum (BCAM) next door. The museum cost $56 million to build and was paid for by flashy Detroit native but now L.A. resident Eli Broad who is worth $5 billion. Eli made his money in real estate then made even more with SunAmerica. Because Eli funded this museum he had say over how it looked and personally hired Italian architect Renzo Piano to construct this red-and-beige boxlike structure. Do you like it? Nibs is not sure if he does...

Last Look At LACMA

November 6, 2009
Teddy and Nibs had a grand old time at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and were pretty fascinated by the architecture which is kind of 1980s Miami Vice meets the Pompidou in Paris. Here's a helpful tip to remember: after 5 pm you pay whatever you desire to enter the museum. So if you only want to fork over $1 then you only have to fork over $1! Nifty, eh?

Audrey Hepburn Movie Marathon

November 5, 2009
The LACMA doesn't just have exhibits. They also screen movies in their Bing Theater. For the past few weeks they've been showing Audrey Hepburn's films, which is music to Teddy's ears as she loves most of her movies (and even dressed up as one of her characters for Halloween, Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's). The marathon ends on November 13 with My Fair Lady. Tickets are $10 for nonmembers and $7 for members.

Gift Shops Are Good

November 5, 2009
The second best part of museum going is visiting the gift shop (the snack bar is #1 of course!). Teddy loves the store at the L.A. County Museum of Art because they have wonderful cards, most of them with flowers or bucolic scenes on them. Nibs waited outside as Teddy perused the jewelry, vases, candles and scarves...more to come!
