Lights! Lights! Lights!

November 5, 2009
One of the most brilliant aspects of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is the light display by artist Chris Burden called "Urban Light." Chris used 202 restored antique street lamps, most of them from L.A. County, to create this masterpiece. "Urban Light" looks pretty nifty during the day and even better at night when it's all lit up. Teddy tried to climb one of the lamp posts with little success. At one point Nibs lost her, but after weaving through the installation he spotted her fuzzy head. It's kind of hard to miss her with that pearl necklace and all...

The Beautiful Bronzes

November 4, 2009
After perusing the paintings Teddy and Nibs sauntered outside for a look at the B. Gerald Cantor Sculpture Garden. Mr. Cantor is the founder of securities firm Cantor Fitzgerald and became so rich he could collect as many Auguste Rodin bronzed pieces as his heart desired. Before he died in 1996 he donated many of his works of art to museums like LACMA thus creating this mini exhibit. Nibs was fascinated with all the Rodins he saw but Teddy was more impressed with the garden area and how peaceful it was.

LACMA Paintings

November 4, 2009
The bears first went to see the Latin and American paintings in the permanent exhibit then took in Spanish master Luis Melendez's still life works which will be on display at LACMA until January 3, 2010. So when your relatives come visit for Christmas and you don't know what to do with them, take them to see Mr. Melendez's fruits and flowers. They'll love 'em. Teddy and Nibs would be happy to show you what these glorious paintings look like, but they can't as they were not allowed to snap photographs inside the museum. I know, shucks...

Field Trip! Day at the LACMA

November 4, 2009
Teddy loves museums not because she's some literati intellectual, but because she finds tremendous joy in looking at pretty things and snacking on gourmet museum cookies. It's really that simple. Today she has taken Nibs to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, better known as LACMA, which is one of the finest museums in the world. Follow T & N as they wander around the spacious city treasure located on Wilshire Boulevard near Fairfax Avenue.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua

November 3, 2009
Last night Teddy popped some popcorn and watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua all by herself. Big mistake. When Chloe (voice by Drew Barrymore) gets locked in a Mexican prison where she has to wait before entering a brutal dog fight with the frightening Diablo (voice by Edward James Olmos), Teddy had to cover her eyes with her paws. The horror! Good thing her admirer Papi (voice by George Lopez) came all the way down from the 90210 to rescue her. Teddy still had nightmares and Nibs had to wake her up and bring her hot chocolate to help her get over the terror. Next time Nibs will have to hold her paw while she watches these scary movies.

Beach Burger

November 2, 2009
After all that Halloween celebrating Teddy and Nibs wanted to go out for a meal. Teddy suggested they try La Grande Orange on 2000 Main St. in Santa Monica because she wanted to test a new place and at the same time get some fresh beach air. La Grande Orange is located where the old Le Boulangerie used to be, a hip 1960s coffee spot the beachy bohemians used to kick back at. Nibs was thrilled with his burger and fries made with all organic ingredients. Teddy nibbled on her lunch but saved most of her appetite for her macaroon chocolate chip cookie and Diet Coke. That Teddy!

Halloween Highlights

November 1, 2009
Teddy and Nibs had a fabulous Halloween night. They got lots of trick or treaters but Teddy was still left with a ton of candy at the end of the night, which made her very happy. Nibs took a liking to Teddy's H'ween floral arrangement and realized he should probably surprise Teddy with flowers once in a while. All in all, their Halloween was spooktacular!
